Professor Paula Jarzabkowski moderated a panel session on “Is insurance the right option?” at the OECD Conference on “Addressing the Protection Gap for Pandemic Risk” on 23 March 2021. The panellists include Olivier Mahul (Practice Manager, Crisis & Disaster Risk Finance, World Bank) and Lloyd Dixon (Director, RAND Kenneth R. Feinberg Center for Catastrophic Risk Management and Compensation). The session examined public financial management and the different financing options, beyond insurance, for governments in providing support to businesses in the context of a pandemic.
